300 Knife-Wielding Miscreants Paraded in Raipur


Efforts to Prevent Festive Procession Clashes, 42 Accused Jailed Under Arms Act

In anticipation of the festive season and to prevent disturbances during upcoming processions and tableaux, the Raipur police paraded 300 suspects with histories of knife-related offenses. These individuals are frequently involved in hooliganism and violent incidents across various areas of the city. The police sternly reprimanded the suspects, leaving them subdued.

According to City ASP Lakhan Patle, under the guidance of SSP Santosh Singh, the police have launched a campaign targeting notorious criminals and knife-wielders in areas such as Saraswati Nagar, DD Nagar, Kotwali, Civil Lines, Khamtarai, and Gole Bazar. The suspects were summoned to the police stations, where the authorities gathered information about their activities and warned them against engaging in any illegal acts during the upcoming festival season.

As part of this campaign, action has been taken against 42 individuals under the Arms Act. Additionally, 67 others have been charged under preventive sections of the law.
