Chhattisgarh embraces industrial modernization and skill development

Raipur: Chhattisgarh is taking significant steps towards industrial modernization and skill development to keep up with global advancements. Under the leadership of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and technical education and skill development department minister Umesh Patel, the government is revamping the industrial training institutes (ITIs) to equip youth with contemporary trade skills.
An MoU was recently signed between the Technical Education and Skill Development Department and Tata Technologies, with an allocated budget of approximately Rs. 1188.36 crore. The agreement aims to transform 36 government ITIs into Industrial 4.0 Technology Hubs. Tata Technologies will establish state-of-the-art technical workshops, introduce new trades and short-term courses, and provide expert trainers. The collaboration will facilitate job placements for over 10,000 trained youth annually.
In an innovative move, Chhattisgarh’s government is integrating vocational training with regular education in state schools. Students can now pursue employment-oriented vocational courses alongside their academic curriculum. This approach enhances their technical skills and employability as they receive certificates from both the school and ITI upon completion of their studies.
The state’s proactive approach towards skill development and modernization is set to empower its youth and foster sustainable growth in the industrial sector.
