Raipur
Chhattisgarh Congress in-charge Kumari Selja said that she feels sorry for former chief minister Dr Raman Singh who has been sidelined by his party. On the other hand, Union Home Minister never gets tired telling lie. She stated this on the sidelines of a divisional convention of the Congress party organised in Bilaspur in view of assembly elections in the state in November this year.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and all veteran Congress leaders were present in this event.
Selja said that the Congress will repeat in Chhattisgarh with absolute majority. She taunted former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and said, “Raman Singh is such a senior leader of BJP who ran the government for 15 years, but it is sad that he has been sidelined by his party.”
Speaking to the media, Selja said that Congress has 18 out of 20 seats in Durg division and two seats are with BJP. These two seats will be won by Congress this time, she said.
Congress came to power in 2018-19 after people fed up with the misrule of the BJP, she said. Today every section of the society is benefited from the welfare schemes being run by the Congress government, she said.
Regarding the distribution of tickets in the assembly elections, Selja said that it is thoughtful process. “Last time our strategy worked very well. That is the reason we got 68 seats. This time also we will distribute the tickets very carefully,” she said.
A survey will be done and the work of each MLA will be observed. After that a lot of discussion and the MLA whose work will be better will be given the ticket. In the question asked about the age limit in ticket distribution, she said to think about it later.
\Union Minister Amit shah is only coming to make false promises
On the question about Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Durg, she said that he is coming to make false promises to the people. The problem of Naxalism has been controlled very well because of the development taking place, she said.
On T S Singhdeo, Selja said he is senior leader of the party. He has contributed in the past as well and his role in this election will be crucial.
On the question of MP Vijay Baghel’ challenging to the Chief Minister in the assembly elections from Patan, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that in the last elections, the BJP did not consider him fit to contest the elections.
Parachute candidate was made to stand from outside. Now will he contest elections against him? He said that this time the Congress will make a special strategy regarding the seats of Vaishali Nagar and Rajnandgaon and will field such a candidate that these seats are won by the Congress.
