Chhattisgarh CM Sai Focuses on Strategic Planning After Decisive Strike in Karregutta, to Chalk Out Next Steps with Forces in Bijapur-Dantewada

Raipur: The recent large-scale anti-Naxal operation in the Karregutta hills has shaken the core of Left-Wing Extremism in Chhattisgarh. In a historic encounter, security forces eliminated 31 hardcore Naxals, including top-ranking cadres at the ACM and DVCM levels. Now, to convert this landmark success into lasting change, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is personally heading to the ground zero to meet the brave personnel, boost their morale, and deliberate on future strategy.
CM Sai is scheduled to visit the CRPF camp in Galgam, located near the Bijapur-Dantewada border. His visit is not just symbolic; he intends to sit with the troops who carried out the operation and collaboratively frame the next phase of counter-insurgency planning. The core objective of this visit is to transform the military triumph in a strategic zone like Karregutta into a foundation for sustainable development and peace.
Once considered a Naxal safe haven, Karregutta witnessed a massive setback to insurgents as over 450 IEDs were defused, a large cache of weapons was recovered, and for the first time, two mega sniper rifles manufactured by the Naxals themselves were seized. This signals not only a weakening of their operational capacity but also reveals a sense of panic within the movement. In this context, CM Sai’s visit is being viewed as a decisive step toward the complete eradication of Naxalism in the coming months.
Later in the day, the Chief Minister will chair a review meeting in Bijapur, where he will assess not just the ongoing security operations but also development initiatives across sectors like education, healthcare, road connectivity, communication, and youth employment. The move underscores the state government’s twin-pronged strategy: sharp and targeted security action on one side and fast-paced developmental efforts on the other to uproot extremism from the region.
