After three phases of elections in Chhattisgarh, a war of words has erupted between prominent leaders regarding the anticipated outcome. Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai and State Congress President Deepak Baij have starkly different views on the future political landscape.
CM Sai expressed confidence during a media interaction in Raipur, stating, “The voting has been favorable. Based on the extensive campaign efforts across the state, we can assert that BJP will secure victory on all 11 seats in Chhattisgarh.”
In response to Sonia Gandhi’s remarks on rising unemployment, CM Sai criticized the opposition, stating, “They lack substantial issues, resorting to repetitive rhetoric. However, the people of Chhattisgarh have rejected their narrative. Congress is poised for defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Their habit of questioning EVMs in defeat and celebrating without scrutiny in victory is well-known.”
Furthermore, CM Sai took to social media, accusing the Congress of running a campaign devoid of vision. He wrote, “While BJP campaigned on the vision of ‘Developed India’, Congress leaders like Bhupesh Baghel and Mahant Ji indulged in baseless criticism and lies.”
However, State Congress President Deepak Baij countered these claims, asserting, “Congress has strong prospects of winning all 11 seats in the state. The people have voted for change, favoring Congress over BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. The anti-Modi sentiment is prevalent not only in Chhattisgarh but nationwide.”
Baij continued, “The BJP’s ambitious target of 400 seats has proven hollow. It’s evident that they are resorting to constitutional amendments to achieve this feat. After three phases, it’s clear that BJP’s claim of 400 seats is faltering, with projections indicating they won’t even reach 150 seats.”
The clash between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress underscores the high stakes and intense competition in Chhattisgarh’s electoral arena. As the nation awaits the election results, the political landscape remains charged with anticipation and uncertainty.
