Chhattisgarh Chief Minister launches scheme to preserve tribal festivals.

The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, will launch the ‘Mukhyamantri Adivasi Parab Samman Nidhi Yojana’ scheme on April 13 at the ‘Bharose ka Sammelan’ event in Jagdalpur. The scheme will provide funds to gramme panchayats to help them organise tribal festivals. The Chief Minister will give Rs. 5,000 to each of the 1,840 Gram Panchayats in Bastar as the first instalment of this scheme. The scheme aims to preserve the culture and traditions of tribal celebrations and record them for future generations. Each Gram Panchayat will receive a grant of Rs. 10,000 per year in two instalments to organise festivals such as Madai, Jatra festival, Sarna Puja, Devgudi, Navakhai, Chherchera, Akti, Hareli, etc. The project will be applicable in the entire scheduled area of Chhattisgarh. A village-level governing body and a section-level governing body will implement the scheme. The Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat and members will include village elders, women, a Kotwar, Patel, and the village Panchayat secretary will head the village-level governing body.
In the district-level governing body, the sub-divisional officer, Revenue, will be the president, and the chief executive officer, Janpad Panchayat, will be its member secretary. In the district-level governing body, the president of the district panchayat, the development block education officer, and the tehsildar will be members.
The district-level governing body will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the implementation of this scheme at the district level.
