Chhattisgarh-cadre IPS Jitendra Shukla appointed NSG Group Commander

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Chhattisgarh-cadre IPS officer Jitendra Shukla as Group Commander in the National Security Guard (NSG). In a communication sent to the state government, the Ministry directed the immediate relief of the officer to allow him to take up his new assignment.

Shukla, a 2013-batch officer, will serve in the NSG at the Superintendent of Police (SP) level under central deputation.

Born on 22 September 1983, Jitendra Shukla hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his schooling at the Government Inter College, Allahabad, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts followed by a Master of Arts in Geography from Allahabad University. He began his civil services preparation shortly after completing his higher education.

Shukla joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) on 2 September 2013. During his probationary period, he was posted in Bilaspur and served as the Station House Officer (SHO) in Kota. His career includes stints as CSP in Ambikapur and Additional SP in Sukma. He has served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in several districts, including Sukma, Mahasamund, Korba, Rajnandgaon, and Durg.
