Chhattisgarh Cabinet Approves Rs 5,000 Pension for Authors, Artists, Nod to Industrial Policy Amendments and Education Quality Campaign

Raipur:
At a cabinet meeting held at Mahanadi Bhawan in Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government took several key decisions on Wednesday aimed at improving education, supporting the arts, and boosting industrial development.

A major highlight was the approval to increase the monthly pension for writers and artists from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. This move is intended to provide greater financial support to individuals contributing to the state’s literary and cultural heritage.

The cabinet also launched a statewide Education Quality Campaign targeting government schools. Under this initiative, schools with consistently low academic performance will be regularly monitored by officials from various departments along with public representatives, to ensure accountability and improve learning outcomes.

The cabinet approved amendments to the state’s Industrial Development Policy. As part of the revisions, special incentives will be provided to the first three industrial units established within a 10-kilometre radius of urban areas or development block headquarters that currently lack mini-malls with multiplexes and CBSE-affiliated private schools (with a minimum capacity of 500 students from Classes 1 to 12). These units will be given priority status similar to thrust sectors to promote ease of living in underdeveloped zones.

Ministers from the Sai government were present at the meeting in Nava Raipur.
