Chhattisgarh bags ‘Best Inland State’, ‘Best Proprietary Firm’ national awards in the field of fish rearing

Raipur: Chhattisgarh has received the ‘Best Inland State’ award in the field of fisheries on the occasion of World Fisheries Day, which was celebrated by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India and National Fisheries Development Board at Daman on Monday.

The award was received by Director (Fisheries) NS Nag on behalf of the state. Along with the award, a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a memento were also given to the state. Meanwhile, Bharat Bala Aquaculture, a fish farming firm of village Bagaud falling under Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh, was also awarded the ‘Best Proprietary Firm’ along with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a memento.

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and agriculture minister Ravindra Choubey have congratulated the officers and employees of the department and all the people associated with the fisheries sector for this outstanding achievement of the state.
