Celebrities from TV, Bollywood and Chhattisgarh are joining the Nijat campaign of Bilaspur Police. Released appeal video against drugs

Bilaspur Police is running a campaign against drugs, narcotics, and illegal drugs that includes strict action, extensive public awareness programmes, and help for drug addicts.

Famous Bollywood and TV actors Prabhu Deva, Arbaaz Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Piyush Mishra, singer Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kailash Kher, Virendra Saxena, Sunil Grover, and Bhagwan Tiwari came out in support of Bilaspur Police’s campaign against drugs, narcotics, and illegal drugs. Shahwar Ali, Yash Ajay Singh, Paritosh Tripathi, Manmohan Tiwari, etc have issued video appeals.

Prominent artists and singers of Chhattisgarh Anuj Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Mona Sen, folk singer Mamta Chandrakar, Teejan Bai, Dilip Shadangi, Sunil Tiwari, Anchal Sharma, Zakir Hussain, Gopal Singh, Yogesh Agarwal, Prakash Awasthi, and many others have also participated in this event. These appeals are affecting people, especially the youth.

A total of 505 programmes were organised in schools, colleges, and public areas under the public awareness campaign against drugs starting in February. With public cooperation, wall-writing and flex with anti-drug slogans have been installed at hundreds of places in the district. The rap song released under Mile Nijat is quite popular among the youth. Nijat Rath is campaigning against drugs from village to village with anti-drug jingles. In two months, the police arrested 1303 people under the Excise and NDPS Acts and sent 228 to prison in non-bailable cases. In addition, de-addiction cells are being established in ten police stations throughout the district to monitor drug addicts.
