CBI Raids Congress Leader’s Home in Bilaspur Amid CGPSC Scam Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid on Wednesday morning at the home of Congress leader Rajendra Shukla in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. This action is part of the investigation into the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) scam. A CBI team of 5-10 members reached Rajendra Shukla’s old residence in Yadunandan Nagar. Additionally, a raid was conducted at the home of former Secretary to the Chhattisgarh Governor Amrit Xalxo in Durg.
The PSC has witnessed large-scale fraud and corruption, where rules were bypassed to recruit relatives of leaders and officials. The state government has handed over the investigation of this serious matter to the CBI.
Rajendra Shukla’s son, Swarnim Shukla, has also been implicated in this scam. Swarnim Shukla was selected as a Deputy Collector and later appointed as Deputy Director in the Tribal Welfare Department. During the investigation, the CBI raised questions about Swarnim’s selection.
It is reported that the FIR related to the PSC fraud is under investigation. In connection with this, the CBI team also reached the new house near the Hi-Tech Bus Stand, where they are questioning Rajendra Shukla regarding the PSC scam.
In Durg district, the CBI team raided the house of Amrit Xalxo in connection with the PSC scam. Xalxo also has a residence in an apartment on Krishna Talkies Road, Talpuri A Block, where the team also conducted a search.
Xalxo’s daughter Neha and son Nikhil were both selected in the CGPSC. Neha secured the 13th rank, and Nikhil secured the 17th rank. Currently, the family resides in Talpuri A Block in the Bhilai police station area. The team is questioning Amrit Khalko and his family.
An FIR has been registered at Arjunda police station in Balod district, alleging irregularities and corruption in the CGPSC recruitment. The FIR names former Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani, the Secretary, the Exam Controller, along with other officials and leaders. The police will investigate all recruitment exams conducted after 2019.
It is claimed that the former Chairman Sonwani and other accused will be arrested soon. Previously, the EOW had registered a case in this matter, and the government had recommended a CBI investigation. Read the full story…
The CBI has started its investigation into the allegations of irregularities and corruption in the CGPSC recruitment. The CBI has taken some documents from the commission and sent them for forensic examination. According to officials, statements will be taken and further action will be taken after the report is received.
Recently, CBI officers visited the CGPSC office and took documents related to the recruitment exams for Deputy Collector and DSP conducted in 2020 and 2021. They also collected reports from the interview panel members who interviewed the controversial candidates.
