Raipur
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday, the Chhattisgarh government approved several key proposals, including a plan to develop the state into a logistics hub, expand storage capacity, and boost exports under the Logistics Policy 2025. The cabinet also decided to ease the minimum service requirement for promotions and established a dedicated pension fund for better retirement benefits management.

As part of the expanded Krishak Unnati Yojana, farmers who shift from paddy cultivation to pulses, oilseeds, and maize will now be eligible for input assistance, aiming to diversify crop patterns and enhance farmers’ incomes. The cabinet also approved the formation of the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund to streamline pension payments upon retirement and the creation of a Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund to ensure long-term economic stability and resilience.

Additionally, under the Re-development Plan, approval was granted for seven projects focused on redeveloping old and dilapidated government buildings and underutilized land. These projects include locations in Shanti Nagar (Raipur), BTI Shankar Nagar (Raipur), Kailash Nagar (Rajnandgaon), Chandni Chowk Phase-2 (Jagdalpur), Civil Lines (Kanker), Club Para (Mahasamund), and Katghora (Korba).

The cabinet also gave the nod to the Jan Vishwas Bill 2025, which aims to decriminalize certain laws to reduce unnecessary litigation and facilitate ease of doing business in the state.

In a significant administrative reform, the minimum service requirement for promotion from Senior Grade Registration Clerk to Sub-Registrar has been relaxed from five years to two years, though this relaxation is applicable only once.

Chief Minister Sai and all cabinet ministers were present during the meeting, which focused on accelerating development, improving governance efficiency, and expanding economic opportunities, especially in rural and industrial sectors.
