Raipur
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to unveil its highly-anticipated candidate list for the upcoming elections, with the announcement expected tonight or tomorrow evening. Insider reports suggest that the party has confirmed the names of more than 60 candidates who will represent the BJP in various constituencies.
In a bid to bolster their electoral prospects, the BJP has decided to field a formidable lineup, comprising sitting Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and former MLAs. However, what sets this candidate list apart is the inclusion of several dynamic young leaders who are making waves within the party’s ranks.
Prominent among these emerging leaders are O P Choudhary, Vijay Sharma, Anuj Sharma, and Prabal Pratap Singh, who are on the verge of securing party tickets to contest in the upcoming elections.
In a bid to secure victory in the four parliamentary constituencies, the BJP has strategically placed its key figures. State President Arun Sao is set to contest from Lormi, while MP Renuka Singh will seek re-election from Bharatpur Sonhat. MP Gomti Sai has been nominated as a candidate from Patthalgaon. Additionally, Dr. Raman Singh is set to contest from Rajnandgaon and opposition leader Narayan Chandel will vigorously compete in his constituency.
Notably, the BJP has also made strategic moves to welcome leaders from other parties into its fold. Dharamjeet Singh, who recently joined the BJP from the Congress, is a strong contender for the ticket from Takhatpur, while Dharamlal Kaushik may be granted a ticket to contest from Bilha.
The BJP’s veteran leaders are also stepping into the electoral arena with great enthusiasm. Former Minister Premprakash Pandey is eyeing a comeback as he plans to contest from Bhilai Nagar. Amar Agrawal is set to make a bid for Bilaspur City, and former Minister Rajesh Munat is gearing up for the electoral battle in Raipur West.
Furthermore, the legacy of former BJP leader Dr. Dilip Singh Judeo continues as his son, Prabal Pratap Singh, seeks to make his mark in the political landscape. Kedar Kashyap is another prominent name set to contest from Narayanpur, while Kiran Dev is eyeing Jagdalpur, Mahesh Gagda is gearing up for Bijapur, and Lata Usendi is making her presence felt in Kondagaon.
Additional names under consideration for the BJP ticket include Purandar Mishra from Raipur North and Motilal Sahu, whose name is being discussed for the rural constituency. Former State President Vikram Usendi is likely to contest from Antagarh, and Bharat Verma stands a strong chance of receiving a ticket from Dongargarh.
With these strategic decisions, the BJP has almost finalized its candidate allocation for the forthcoming elections, setting the stage for a fiercely contested battle in various constituencies. Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving political saga.
