BJP leaders meet Governor, seek high-level investigation into Pahadi Korwa family suicide incident

Raipur: A BJP delegation met with the Governor to discuss the case of the mass suicide of the family belonging to Pahadi Korwa tribe. During the meeting, the Governor was presented with a memorandum requesting a high-level investigation, along with the investigation team’s report.

The leaders who arrived to meet with Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan included leader of opposition Narayan Chandel, former Chief Minister Raman Singh, State President Arun Sao, MP Sunil Soni, former leader of opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, as well as former ministers and MLAs.

In the memorandum submitted regarding the incident, the BJP wrote that on April 2, 2023, the Pahadi Korwa tribal family, known as the adopted sons of the President, committed a heart-wrenching mass suicide. In response, the state BJP formed an eight-member investigation committee. The committee members visited the village of Jhumaridumar on April 7, and uncovered significant facts. The government administration has not yet revealed the reasons for the mass suicide. A high-level investigation should be conducted into this matter.
