Bilaspur Municipal Corporation gets its fifth MMU under Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme

Bilaspur: In a significant boost to healthcare accessibility for slum dwellers, Bilaspur Municipal Corporation got its fifth Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) under the visionary Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme. Initiated by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, the scheme aims to provide medical facilities to those residing in urban slum settlements.
On the occasion of the MMU launch, Mayor Ramsharan Yadav and Collector Sanjeev Kumar Jha flagged off the newly added MMU from the district office premises. Expressing his appreciation for Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel’s unwavering commitment to elevating healthcare services in the state, Mayor Yadav highlighted the significance of the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme. This scheme has paved the way for the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation to add the fifth MMU to its existing fleet of four operational units.
Each MMU is equipped with a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, and lab technician, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services on the move. The medical unit conducts 41 types of health examinations and provides access to approximately 170 different medicines. Since its inception, this scheme has benefited over 2.50 lakh patients in the Municipal Corporation area, with each unit catering to around 80 patients daily through health consultations and examinations.
The event witnessed the presence of SP Santosh Singh, Municipal Commissioner Kunal Dudawat, Parshad Rajesh Shukla, and a dedicated team of medical professionals and municipal corporation staff.
