Bilaspur MP Tokhan Sahu appointed Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development in Modi Cabinet

Tokhan Sahu, Member of Parliament from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, has been appointed Minister of State in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet that took oath on Sunday. He has been given responsibilities in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. This ministry is under Cabinet Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Sahu is the seventh MP from the center to become a Minister of State. This is his first term as a Member of Parliament after winning the Lok Sabha election.

he distribution of departments in the Modi government took place on Monday evening. On Sunday, 71 ministers were sworn in along with Modi, including 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers with independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State.
Sahu was first elected as an MLA from the Lormi Assembly seat in 2013. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sahu defeated Congress candidate Devendra Yadav by a margin of over 164,000 votes.


The BJP fielded former MLA Sahu from Lormi as their candidate for the Bilaspur Lok Sabha seat. Sahu achieved a historic victory from this seat. He began his political career in 1994 as a Panch from the small village of Surajpura in Lormi. Tokhan Sahu is known as a popular public representative in the region.
