Bhilai Nagar: Municipal Corporation Evicts Illegally Operated Meat Shop in Clean and Beautiful Bhilai Drive
Bhilai Nagar, January 21, 2026 – In a swift enforcement action, the Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC) evicted an illegally operated meat and mutton shop caught selling products openly during a morning inspection by Commissioner Rajiv Kumar Pandey.
Despite a strict ban on unauthorized meat sales within corporation limits, the shop was found operating at Subhash Chowk in Zone-3, openly cutting and selling meat at a major intersection. Acting on the commissioner’s directives, Health Officer Javed Ali oversaw the eviction, with a JCB machine used to dismantle and seize the bamboo stalls.
The shop operator was sternly warned against setting up any open-air stalls in the future. The operation was supported by Assistant Revenue Officer Basant Dewangan, Zone Health Officer Birendra Banjare, Sanitation Inspector Chudamani Yadav, and the eviction team.
This crackdown underscores BMC’s ongoing “Swachh Evam Sundar Bhilai” (Clean and Beautiful Bhilai) initiative to curb hygiene violations and illegal vending.
