Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today started the meeting in the Baikunthpur assembly constituency with ritualistic worship at Devgudi of village Pondi-Bachra. On the villager’s demand, the Chief Minister proposed a new college for higher education, Swami Atmanand English School in Pondi-Bachra, an up-gradation of Pondi-Bachra Primary Health Center into a Community Health Center to improve health facilities, a cooperative bank for expansion of banking facilities. Announcement of up-gradation of the branch, police assistance centre into the police post, construction of a new bridge over Ghanuhar drain near village Mansukh for well-organized traffic and establishment of new power sub-station in village Sakariya.

When the Chief Minister reached Pondi-Bachra village, he was enthusiastically welcomed by the local dance team to the tune of Mandar, drum beat and song. Annapurna Singh, a member of the silk women’s group Jampara, presented a garland of mulberry cocoons made of tussar threads by women to the Chief Minister. The members of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club Pondi welcomed them with traditional Khumri and raw cotton garlands. During the meeting, Vimala Shyam presented a beautiful melody based on the schemes and achievements of the state government. Impressed by the song, the Chief Minister complimented them.
The Chief Minister started the meeting by honouring the Chhattisgarh Mahtari. He interacted with the villagers and took information about the implementation of the state government projects with great ease. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the purpose of the meeting is to know whether people are getting the benefits of the schemes or not. That is why I started the meeting program with remote forest areas on priority.
During the meeting, several villagers were there amid heavy rains. Starting the discussion, the Chief Minister said I will ask some questions; you should ask some questions. The Chief Minister said that the State Government procured 98 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year. The farmers are getting the benefit from the Rajiv Gandhi Nyay Yojana. Through this scheme, the government is trying to get the farmers the right price for their hard work.

Talking to the Chief Minister, Balaram said that the Government of India is not sending manure; I have bought 40 bags of vermicompost. While assuring Balaram, the Chief Minister said that Gauthans will function as fertilizer factories in villages. Fertilizer will not be a problem. Ram Narayan informed the Chief Minister that by selling 90 quintals of cow dung, he had earned an income of Rs 18,000, which he spent on his daughter’s wedding. They will further sell cow dung and expand farming. Kamla of village Pondi said that she produces earthworms in Gauthan so far, she has an income of 5 lakh 25 thousand rupees. Apart from this, Kamala has earned Rs.3.80 lakh by selling three hundred and 80 quintals of vermicompost. With this money, she extended the business and opened a seed shop. The Chief Minister congratulated Ram Narayan and Kamala Bai while encouraging them to expand their business.
The Chief Minister interacted with Satakshi, a student of Swami Atmanand English Medium School. She answered the Chief Minister’s questions in Chhattisgarhi and English. The Chief Minister was pleased and praised Satakshi and wished her a bright future.

The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the distribution of Forest Rights Patta. It is noteworthy that more than 17 thousand forest rights pattas have been distributed in the district. The Chief Minister inspected the primary health centre before discussing it with the villagers. Parliamentary Secretary Ambika Singhdeo, local public representatives and many villagers were present during the meeting.
