Bangladeshi Fugitive Arrested at Durg Railway Station from Kurla Express Train

A fugitive accused and Bangladeshi national was apprehended by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Durg Railway Station while traveling on the Kurla Express (Train No. 18029). The arrest was made following a tip-off from the Raipur security control room based on information provided by Mumbai Police.
On November 7, 2025, information was received that a wanted accused, registered under Passport Act Sections 03(a) and 06(a), and Foreigners Act Sections 14(a) and 14(b) in Navi Mumbai Rabale Police Station (Case No. 245/25), was aboard the Kurla Express in the General Coach. The accused was reportedly on the run.
Acting promptly on the intelligence, the In-Charge of Durg Post along with Assistant Sub Inspector Verma, the police force, and GRP officials and staff conducted a coordinated search of all coaches at Platform No. 05 when the train arrived at 18:12 hours. The accused was found seated in the sleeper coach.
The suspect was identified as Ajmir Alamin Sheikh (19), son of Alamin Sheikh, resident of Village Budhi Khali, Thana Kalia, District Nodal (Bangladesh). He had no identification documents on his person.
Following his arrest, the accused was brought to the GRP Durg Police Station for custodial interrogation. The station duly informed the concerned police station regarding the apprehension.
On November 8, 2025, a team from Mumbai Police arrived at Raipur Airport and subsequently moved to Durg Station. After completing the formalities at Durg, the accused was handed over to the Mumbai Police Sub Inspector and staff for further legal proceedings.
It is noteworthy that the competent court in Mumbai had on October 27, 2025, ordered the deportation of the Bangladeshi national back to Bangladesh.
