Average rainfall of 486.9 mm recorded in Chhattisgarh so far

Raipur: As per data compiled by the State Level Control Room, established by the State Government’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Chhattisgarh has recorded an average rainfall of 486.9 mm since June 1, 2023. Among the various districts, Bijapur recorded the highest average rainfall of 1011.5 mm, while Surguja witnessed the lowest at 178.8 mm.

The state-level flood control room provided additional information on rainfall in different districts during the same period. Surajpur recorded an average rainfall of 337.3 mm, Balrampur 326.1 mm, Jashpur 336.8 mm, Koriya 438.3 mm, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur 419.1 mm.

Other districts experienced varying rainfall averages as follows: Raipur 589.0 mm, Balodabazar 437.9 mm, Gariaband 500.2 mm, Mahasamund 482.1 mm, Dhamtari 564.1 mm, Bilaspur 455.5 mm, Mungeli 572.1 mm, Raigarh 469.5 mm, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh 391.8 mm, Janjgir-Champa 335.5 mm, Sakti 354.8 mm, Korba 430.8 mm, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi 383.8 mm, and Durg 422.9 mm.

Furthermore, Kabirdham recorded 371.6 mm, Rajnandgaon 634.4 mm, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki 699.6 mm, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai 521.5 mm, Balod 628.4 mm, Bemetara 363.8 mm, Bastar 564.1 mm, Kondagaon 407.0 mm, Kanker 492.1 mm, Narayanpur 448.4 mm, Dantewada 672.9 mm, and Sukma 825.8 mm of average rainfall since June 1.

Overall, the state experienced varying rainfall patterns across districts during this period, with Bijapur receiving the highest and Surguja the lowest average rainfall.
