An MoU is signed between Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya and Nava Nalanda Mahavihara University to study Indian knowledge traditions.

Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University), Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal and Prof. Baidyanath Labh, Vice-Chancellor of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (Deemed University) University, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, signed an MoU between the two institutions.
On December 02, 2022, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, while signing the MoU, said that in India’s glorious, distinguished knowledge tradition, Nalanda has had special importance in reaching out to the global spiritual and academic world. Through this MoU between the two institutions, he said, the study of Indian knowledge tradition will get a new dimension.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chakrawal said that the higher educational institutions have emphasized starting postgraduate level PG programs in the coming time to promote the study of Yoga and Vipassana. He added that one finds a convergence of various elements of ancient Indian literature and culture in Nalanda. The majority of Buddhist literature texts are available in Pali, which will be translated into other Indian languages, as well as promoted and disseminated as part of this MoU.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal expressed the hope that through this MoU, teachers and researchers of both institutes will be able to work together on subjects like research, analysis, and innovation.
Prof. Baidyanath Labh, Vice-Chancellor, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (Deemed University) University, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, said that this MoU will help both the institutions to develop and preserve the language, culture, and historical knowledge tradition of the nation. He appreciated the process adopted by Professor Chakrawal under Guru Ghasidas Central University’s innovative scheme Swavalambi Chhattisgarh to make youth self-reliant based on entrepreneurship development, skill development, and value-based education.
Nava Nalanda Mahavihara University (Deemed to be University) is famous all over the world for the study and research on Buddhism and Pali language.
