Amit Shah Lauds Officers for Successful Anti-Naxal Operations

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday met and congratulated officers who were instrumental in the recent anti-Naxal operations, hailing their “historic success“. Shah reiterated the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from the menace of Naxalism.

In a post on X, the Union Home Minister expressed his eagerness to meet the brave jawans who ensured the success of these operations with their courage. He announced his plan to visit Chhattisgarh soon to meet them.

Under the guidance of the Union Home Minister, security forces have been conducting sustained anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. A significant operation by the Chhattisgarh Police, including District Reserve Guard (DRG) units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, was carried out in the interior areas of Abujhmad from 18 May 2025 to 21 May 2025.

On 21 May 2025, an encounter in the forests of Boter village resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including Basavaraju alias Gaganna, a General Secretary and Polit Bureau member of the CPI (Maoist). A large quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered during the operation.
