Bilaspur. A two-day international seminar was organised in Ahmedabad on December 21 and 22, 2022, as part of the centenary year celebrations of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, under the joint aegis of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (the Central University), Gujarat University, and the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, New Delhi. At 9.30 a.m. on December 21, 2022, the honourable vice chancellor of the university, professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, delivered the keynote address in this international seminar on the role of saints in the empowerment of scheduled castes and tribes.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, BAPS Saint Milind Kamble, Vijay Sonkar Shastri, Sanjeev Dangi, Padmashri Ravi Kumar Nara, and Himanshu Pandya were present among the guests on the stage. First of all, the lamp was lit by the guests. Thereafter, Himanshu Pandya delivered the welcome address and Milind Kamble the inaugural address.
Honourable Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, the chief speaker of the program, said that the service of man is Madhav service, imbued with divinity. The aim of all of our lives should be the welfare of all and happiness for all. Baba Guru Ghasidas in Chhattisgarh had given a similar formula, “Mankhe-Mankhe Ek samaan,” about two hundred fifty years ago, a concept that is the spirit of our constitution, of the United Nations, and humanity. If we want to become world gurus, as Professor Chakrawal pointed out, we must imbibe the spirit of harmony and create a sense of equality in human civilisation. Humanity is the central concern of a perfect society and is central to the idea of human unity.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chakrawal, said that Swaminarayan Sansthan’s chief, Swami Maharaj ji, dedicated his life to uplifting scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and the backward and deprived classes. Our saints spread vibrant messages to instil a spirit of unity, harmony, and positivity in society. He stated that it is our duty and responsibility to follow the path blazed by Baba Guru Ghasidas and Pramukh Swami Maharaj and end all forms of discrimination, evil practices, and obnoxious customs in society.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chakrawal, appraised all the intellectuals present in the auditorium that Guru Ghasidas Central University has taken the initiative to make the subject matter related to the life philosophy of Baba Guru Ghasidas ji a part of the curriculum. Similarly, all the institutes should convey the inspiring simplicity and the virtue-imbued life philosophy of our sages, saints, and great people to the youth through the curriculum to help the young generation with role models and ideals.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, was honoured with a memento. In the end, the vote of thanks was presented by Jyotirendra Dave.
