‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025’: Raipur student asks PM Modi how to be happy with small victories

Raipur
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students, parents, and teachers in ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025’ on Monday. Yuktamukhi Sahu, a student of Mayaram Surjan School in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, asked PM Modi during the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme, “How do we stay happy with small victories? I tend to be more negative in everything.”
PM Modi asked Yuktamukhi, “Do you think things are negative yourself, or does someone else make you feel that way?” In response, Yuktamukhi said that she was expecting 95% in 10th grade, but when she got 93%, she became very depressed.
PM Modi said, “Set a target that is within reach but not within grasp.”
While answering Yuktamukhi’s question, the Prime Minister said, “I consider this a success. Set a target that is within reach but not within grasp… First of all, I congratulate you for setting a target 2 points higher than your ability, which is not bad. And see, next time if you aim for 97, you will definitely get 95.”
“The thing to be proud of is that you set a target of 95, you didn’t set 97, you didn’t set 99, you didn’t set 100. Did you have faith in yourself when you set 95? You can look at the same thing in a different way.”
This time, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ was held in an open environment instead of on stage via video conferencing. Yuktamukhi asked questions in Chapter 13, ‘Realize Your Potential, Achieving Target’ during the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’.
This was the eighth ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ where Prime Minister Modi interacted with students, teachers, and parents to reduce the stress and fear of board exams.
Don’t listen to the noise, just focus on the goal. Like a cricketer, focus only on the ball (target) and ignore external pressure. Focus on studies and ignore the opinions or social pressure of others.
Resolve to improve yourself every time. Identify your dreams and work hard for them.
To become a leader, it is important to help others and set an example for yourself. Learn to work in a team and take responsibility.
Studies are important, but along with that, you should also do extra activities. Let children learn according to their interests.
Everyone has 24 hours, the difference is only in its correct use. Avoid useless gossip and wasting time.
Share your dilemmas and problems with family and friends. Talking will reduce depression and stress.
Adopt meditation and pranayama: Meditation and yoga increase mental peace and concentration.
Adopt laughter therapy as it is also important to be happy.
Parents and teachers should not increase the pressure on children: Parents should understand the interests of children and not force career choices on them. Instead of comparing, recognize and encourage the strengths of children.
