Chhattisgarh Chief Minister holds high-level emergency meeting to review Covid-19 situation in state, appeals people to abide by COVID rules to prevent spread of infection

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel
on Monday chaired a high-level emergency meeting of cabinet ministers and
senior officials to review Covid-19 situation in the state, at his residence
office here. The meeting was organized in the view of surge in number of
Covid-19 cases across the state.

Chief Minister urged all the districts to be on
alert besides instructing the officials concerned to increase the number of
daily Covid tests conducted per day. Besides, he also directed to make all necessary
arrangements in hospitals and stressed on ensuring strict adherence to COVID safety
precautions at all places. He added that we are keeping an eye on the current
situation.

Appealing people of the state to strictly abide by
all the necessary precautions for protection from coronavirus, he said that all
should mandatorily wear face mask when stepping out of home, avoid crowded
places and practice social and physical distancing.

“We
are certainly heading towards the third wave of coronavirus and the number of
cases will rise rapidly. The condition can only be controlled by early testing
and immediate treatment. Besides, it is the need of hour to avoid mass events
and gatherings”, Baghel said.

The
Chief Minister has instructed the officials concerned to submit daily health data;
increase the RT-PCR testing at airports and conduct regular screening of people.
He asked the district administration to be proactive at their level and make
all possible efforts to control spread of the infectious disease.

Baghel
asked the officials to complete all the necessary preparations in advance by
holding discussions with all the departments. Besides, further discussions will
be taken after discussion with various organizations.

The
meeting was informed that the restrictions of one-third capacity in social,
religious and other gatherings will be continued as per the instructions issued
earlier and permission from the collector will be mandatory if the number of
people participating in event or programme is above 200.
