Health Minister Shyambihari Jayaswal vows comprehensive healthcare for 3 crore people in Chhattisgarh
Raipur Health Minister Shyambihari Jayaswal officially assumed office today. On this occasion, the Health Minister emphasized that providing simple, accessible, and high-quality health facilities to every person is his priority. He mentioned that investigations will be conducted into any corruption that has taken place, and appropriate action will be taken. Directives were issued today in a meeting with officials based on departmental information. He expressed his commitment that until government hospital beds are available, people should not have to resort to private ones. Surveys are underway to determine the locations for opening AIIMS in the state. He stated, ‘Our commitment is to provide health facilities to around 3 crore people in Chhattisgarh, even in remote areas. We are dedicated to fulfilling Modi’s guarantee.’ A comprehensive review meeting was conducted with all senior officials, along with video conferencing involving responsible officers. The framework for implementing plans has been prepared, and discussions included providing access under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, efforts to make India TB-free, and conducting extensive screenings for sickle cell anemia. He mentioned that precise inspections of health centers will take place, and officers have been directed for these inspections. Discussions also covered the status of construction, seat availability in colleges, and the condition of teachers. When asked about the number of COVID cases and a review of the previous government’s work, he informed that there was a discussion in the meeting regarding the district-wise COVID situation. Regarding the management of health schemes like the Khubchand Baghel Health Scheme, he stated that while health facilities are available for 10 lakhs, the relevance of the smart card will diminish, but efforts will be made to test and progress it. He emphasized that no schemes are being closed yet.
