Chhattisgarh CM Vishnudeo Sai pledges 18 lakh houses for the poor under PMAY in first Cabinet

Raipur Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai, who chaired the first meeting of his Cabinet on Thursday, stated that the state government would construct 18 lakh houses for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), as promised in the manifesto. “We will fulfill all our promises for the welfare of the state under ‘Modi’s Guarantee.’ With the NDA-led government at the Centre and a BJP government in Chhattisgarh, it’s a win-win situation for the state. The ‘double engine’ government will expedite the fulfillment of all its manifesto promises within five years,” said the new chief minister. The Chief Minister assured that the state government will act sternly against corruption. On December 25, the state government will provide a bonus of Rs 300 per quintal for two years, which was pending during the BJP government, to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee, he announced. Furthermore, discussions were held on various issues, including the Krishak Kalyan Yojana, paddy procurement, and Prime Minister’s Housing, among others. Both Deputy Chief Ministers – Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma – the Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, and all secretaries were present at the cabinet meeting. The purchase of 21 quintals of rice at Rs 3100 per quintal, payment of a lump sum amount to farmers, allocation of 18 lakh PM houses (with the government’s share), provision of household water connections within two years, Mahatari Vandana Yojana, outstanding bonus for two years to be paid by December 25, and an agreement to make PSC exams transparent like UPSC were discussed. Sai affirmed that the state government would make people-centric and historic decisions for Chhattisgarh’s development. A day earlier, the CM had highlighted the issuance of PM Modi’s guarantee and manifesto during elections. Detailed discussions will now take place on this matter, along with its implementation. The Chief Minister paid homage to Kamlesh Sahu, a resident of Hasaud, Sakthi district, who was martyred in the IED blast in Narayanpur district. The CM expressed his condolences to the martyr’s family, acknowledging Kamlesh Sahu’s unparalleled courage and sacrifice. During this time of sorrow, the entire Chhattisgarh stands in solidarity with the family. Additionally, there is a proposal to celebrate Atal Ji’s birthday on December 25 throughout the state.
