Union Minister Anurag Thakur accuses Congress Government of harming Chhattisgarh over past five years

Raipur Union Minister Anurag Thakur has accused the Congress government of causing harm to Chhattisgarh over the last five years. Speaking at the launch of the “Bhu-Pe” app, Thakur alleged that the Congress government had harmed the state by distributing alcohol under the guise of prohibition, implicating Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a liquor scam. Thakur highlighted that it was former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had separated Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh, granting it statehood. He pointed out that Madhya Pradesh was ailing before the BJP government came to power, and Chhattisgarh faced numerous challenges during that time.

However, when the BJP took control in Chhattisgarh, new standards were set. Thakur expressed concern that the Congress government had damaged the state in the last five years, leading to the deaths of approximately 40,000 children and the unfulfilled promise of abolishing the Mandi tax. Thakur emphasized that Chhattisgarh, under the shadow of mafia rule, now seeks redemption. During the upcoming elections, the state’s youth and women are determined to hold those in power accountable for their actions, including tax collection with interest. He urged the public to share the BJP’s app on social media, highlighting that corruption’s face in Chhattisgarh is represented by “Bhu-Pe.” Thakur compared his statement to one he made to ‘Manish’ in Delhi, now directing it to Bhupesh in Chhattisgarh. Responding to allegations made against the Central government by Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge regarding non-cooperation, Thakur stated that Bhupesh Baghel has deprived the poor of their homes. Thakur emphasized that the Central government provides funding for various initiatives and expressed disappointment that the Congress government in Chhattisgarh has not allocated funds for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). In response to Thakur’s challenge, Chhattisgarh Congress communication head Sushil Anand Shukla suggested that Kharge may not accept the challenge. He mentioned that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi were in Thakur’s place, Kharge might have accepted the challenge.
