Budget session begins: Proceedings adjourned till 11 am on March 2 after Governor’s address

Proceedings of the budget session have been adjourned till 11 am on March 2 after Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan’saddress on Wednesday. The Governor appreciated the Ram Van Gaman Path, Atmanand School and Tuhar Sarkar Tuhar Dwarprogramme being run by the state government.

Opposition BJP MLAs Ajay Chandrakar and BrijmohanAgrawal created a ruckus in the assembly over the issue of the petition against the governor in the reservation case. Amidst the uproar, the Governor started reading his address. Brijmohan said that the government has gone to court against a governor. Chandrakar said when there is no faith in the Governor, then what is the meaning of the address.

Earlier, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held in the committee room of the Vidhan Sabha under the chairmanship of Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant.

Members of the committee including Chief Minister BhupeshBaghel, Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey, Assembly Deputy Speaker Santram Netam attended the meeting.

A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held in the Committee Room of the Legislative Assembly, in which CM Bhupesh, Leader of the Opposition Chandel along with Ministers also participated.

The budget session will have 14 sittings starting from March 1 and it will continue till March 24. The budget will be presented on March 6. After this there will be a holiday for Holi. Speaker Dr Mahant said that 1730 questions have been received so far. The questions will be discussed from 13 to 22 March. 57 attention points have also come up.

Unlike previous budgets, an online budget will be presented in the state assembly, for the first time in 22 years. The MLAs will not be given a copy of the manual budget, but monitors will be placed on their tables. Before this, all the MLAs will also be given training to operate it. Due to this, crores of rupees will be saved in the exchequer of the government, which can be spent for the welfare of the people. ,

The budget be an election budget in the state in view of assembly elections this year end. In this, provision of many concessions and facilities can be made for the public. It is believed that this could be the biggest budget of Chhattisgarh till date. The previous budget was Rs 1 lakh 12 thousand 603 crore40 lakh.

The BJP is accusing the ruling party of shortening the budget session. Apart from this, the opposition will try to surround the Congress government on issues like PM housing scheme, law and order, regularization in the assembly. To prepare for this, a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party has been held today at 7 pm.
