55-year-old man beaten, strangled to death in Sukma

Unidentified assailants allegedly beat and strangled a 55-year-old man to death in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, late Wednesday. The police are investigating the incident from all angles to determine if the murder was a Naxal attack or a case stemming from personal enmity.

The incident occurred in the Kistaram police station area. The victim was identified as Rawa Sona (55), a resident of Salatong village.

Information suggests an unknown person called Sona out of his house late at night on Wednesday. The assailants then severely thrashed him with lathis and sticks, leaving him badly injured. They subsequently strangled Sona before fleeing the spot.

Police were alerted to the incident on the morning of Thursday and immediately reached the crime scene. They are currently questioning the family members and villagers in connection with the crime.

Police officials stated that they are investigating all possibilities to ascertain if the murder resulted from a Naxal conspiracy or was an act of personal rivalry. A detailed investigation will establish the true motive behind the killing.
