22 students in Bilaspur fall sick after consuming mid-day meal

Raipur: As many as 22 children of Bilaspur fallen sick after having mid day meal. The children experienced of vomiting and diarrhea after reaching home from school. The family members used some home treatment but when their condition worsened, the villagers informed Mitanin and the Sarpanch. The incident happened in Sonsai Navagaon of Kota block.

They were then rushed to nearby primary health care center where a team of health department also reached. After investigation, the health officials suspected of food poisoning. The health department team has set up a health camp in the area to provide immediate treatment to other villagers, if they fall sick.

Meanwhile, a team of PHE department has also reached the village and collected water samples from different places for testing.

BMO Dr. Nikhlesh Gupta informed that children are experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. Symptoms resemble food poisoning. In such a situation, the mid-day meal and food items of the school concerned will also be checked on Monday.

CMHO Dr. Anil Srivastava said that soon after getting information about the outbreak of diarrhea in the village, arrangements have been made for immediate diagnosis and treatment. Treatment of children is our topmost priority.  After that the accountability of the incident will be fixed. If any negligence comes to the fore, then investigation will be conducted and strict action will be taken against one found guilty.
