130 CPI-Maoist Cadres Surrender with 124 Weapons in Telangana

Raipur
A major blow to CPI-Maoist operations occurred as 130 cadres, including senior commanders from PLGA Battalion, DK SZC, TSC, and CCM staff, surrendered before Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy on March 7, 2026.

They handed over 124 firearms, including 1 LMG, 31 AK-47s, 21 INSAS rifles, and 5,205 rounds of ammunition, marking one of the largest surrenders in recent times.

Key Surrenders:
Prominent figures include Endri Karithram Uike Kallu (BnPCM, PLGA Coy-1 commander), Korsa Lakku (BnPCM, Coy-2), Chalasani Navatha Chandra (DK SZCM, RePoS member), and Irpa Ramu Vinod (RCM, ex-PBM team).

The group comprises 42 from PLGA 1st Battalion, 30 from TSC, 32 from DK SZC, 16 from 2nd CRC, and 10 CCM staff, mostly from Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur and Sukma districts.

Weapons Details:
This haul includes grenades and UBGL shells, significantly crippling the group’s combat capabilities in Telangana and Dandakaranya region.

Impact and Incentives:
The surrender dismantles the PLGA’s presence, following appeals by CM Revanth Reddy since October 2025.

Cadres cited desire for family life and development. Under Telangana’s surrender policy, they will receive up to ₹20 lakh each, along with MHA rewards totaling ₹4.18 crore. Additionally, ₹25,000 interim relief has been provided.

Officials stated that Telangana now has only 7 active native Maoist cadres left, marking a sharp decline compared to previous years.
