111 bags of adulterated paddy seized in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district

Raipur: Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district collector PS Dhruv on Tuesday took action to seize 111 bags of adulterated paddy brought by a farmer Shri Rai Singh, resident Chhipchapi village, to sell at Banji Paddy Procurement Center.
Expressing displeasure over the said act of the farmer, the collector took action against him and asked him to surrender the remaining area in his name so that he can not do such a wicked act in the future. The collector gave strict instructions to the in charge of the paddy procurement center to keep a strict vigil in the purchase of paddy and not to purchase sub-standard paddy. He said that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of any kind of disturbance and connivance in the purchase of paddy.
Following this, the Collector also made a surprise visit to paddy procurement centers Koda, Bardar, and Kaudimar. He held discussions with the farmers who came to sell paddy on this occasion and took information regarding payment and other facilities. The collector advised the farmers to bring paddy of standard level for sale.
Collector Dhruv then reached Anganwadi center Banji and primary school and pre-secondary school village Banji and primary and pre-secondary school village Podi and took stock of the study and teaching arrangements for the children there. Expressing his displeasure over the non-completion of the main reading room built in the former secondary school Podidih and the dilapidated roof of the primary school Podidih, the Collector directed the District Education Officer and Gram Panchayat Secretary to complete this work expeditiously.
Meanwhile, nearly 5.84 lakh quintals of paddy has been purchased from 12,022 farmers in 23 procurement centers of the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. Out of which 4.57 lakh quintal paddy has been lifted through 12 registered rice millers, which is 78.27 per cent of the total procurement. Against the target of 4 lakh 60 thousand 300 quintals of total rice deposition, so far 2 lakh 86 thousand 620 quintals have been deposited, which is 61.18 per cent of the total target. Meanwhile, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district ranks first in the state in terms of the deposition of custom-milled rice. In the procurement centers where more paddy is available than the prescribed limit, instructions were given to the Food Officer Sanjay Thakur to get the paddy lifted at the earliest.
