Talented student from a poor family receives financial aid for his higher education in the prestigious IIT

With the kindness and compassion of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, it has now
become possible for Yogesh Sahu, a promising student from a poor family, to
study in the prestigious institution of IIT Mumbai.

Sahu, a resident of Bhatapara in Balodabazar district, has secured an All India
Rank (OBC) of 241 in the JEE Advanced exam 2021. His father Gayaram Sahu is a
driver by profession, who earns around Rs 12,000 and it is not possible for him
to bear the expenses of Yogesh’s higher education in IIT. Yogesh Sahu had
recently met chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and requested financial aid for
his education in IIT.

Responding
to his request, Baghel has sanctioned Rs 4 lakh to Yogesh Sahu for his IIT admission
and education. The chief minister has assured Yogesh that State Government would
provide every possible support to him for his higher education. Yogesh Sahu
also informed the chief minister that in the session 2018-19, he had secured the second position in the merit list of the state by securing 98 per cent marks in
the high school examination. The chief minister congratulated Yogesh Sahu for his
achievement and wished him a bright future.
