Jagdalpur. Naxalites have once again suffered a setback in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. Naxalite leader Hakiraju Hargopal alias Akki Raju (63) was killed. Bastar IG Sundarraj P and the Naxalite organization confirmed his death. In the letter issued by the Naxalites, they said that Akki Raju had a kidney disease and was undergoing treatment. Despite dialysis, he could not survive. The Chhattisgarh government had placed a reward of Rs 50 lakh on him.

 

According to sources, Naxalite leader Akki Raju died in the border areas of South Bastar that is the Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts. In a letter issued by Abhay, the spokesperson of Naxalites confirmed that Akki Raju Hargopal died at 6 am on October 14. Akki Raju was a member of the Central Committee of Naxalites. He was married to Naxalite Sirisha. The two also had a son named Munna alias Prithvi, who died in the Ramguda encounter in 2018.

Rajagopal was born in 1958 in the Palnad area of ​​the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. His father was a school teacher. Hargopal also did his post-graduation and then started teaching with his father. Meanwhile, in 1978, at the age of 20, he came in contact with the Naxalites. After four years, he joined the Naxalite organization. After this, he led the Naxalites in South Telangana for four years while staying in different positions in the Naxalite organization.

In 2000, The Naxalites chose him as the state secretary for Andhra Pradesh. Then in the year 2004, the Andhra Pradesh government held talks with the Naxalite delegation led by Akki Raju. During the talks, they could not find a solution, and Akki Raju was taken into custody. After this, he was shifted by the Central Committee to another place. Apart from Akki, there is also news of the death of two other Naxalite leaders. Their names and cause of death are not yet known.

In the last few months, many Naxalite leaders have died from Corona. On June 10, Naxalite Katti Mohan Rao alias Damu Dada, on June 21, the Central Committee member of Naxalites and Haribhushan, a reward of 40 lakh rupees, and on June 22, a woman Naxalite Bharatakka, were killed. Along with this, Naxalite Vinod, who had a prize of 15 lakhs, also died due to illness in the past.
