Chhattisgarh government has decided to provide school uniforms to the high
school and higher secondary school students belonging to economically weaker
section of the society at a nominal cost of Rs 10. This initiative will be
implemented in the state from upcoming academic session 2022-23.

by the school education department. Recently, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel had
asked the school education department to procure school uniforms through
Chhattisgarh Handloom Development and Marketing Cooperative Federation. The
consent for the same has been given by the school education department and order
in this regard has also been issued.

July. This year the school only opened in August. Due to uncertainties
regarding the conduct of the session and administrative delay, the order was
not given this year. The government has been ordering these committees to make
62-63 lakh uniforms every year.

societies are functioning in the state. Out of these, 250 weavers’ societies
prepare 59 types of cloth as per the government demand in the handloom union.
