Big relief for citizens as the state government provides relaxation of 15 days for payment of property tax and return submission in urban bodies

Raipur: Keeping in view the convenience of common citizens a special relaxation of 15 days has been given in urban bodies for payment of property tax and return submission. The decision taken as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel came as a huge relief for citizens. 

Citizens will now be able to pay property tax in urban bodies till April 15, 2022. Urban Administration and Development Department has issued instructions in this regard to all the District Collectors, Divisional Commissioners and Chief Municipal Officer, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat on Thursday.

According to the order issued, the last date for payment of property tax and return submission in urban bodies was fixed till March 31. However, keeping in view convenience of the common citizens and maximum collection of property tax payable to the urban bodies, a special relaxation of 15 days has been given in the last date for submission of returns, just like last year. Common citizens can now deposit property tax in urban bodies till April 15, 2022. Besides, it has also been stated in the order that people coming to the office for payment of property tax must mandatorily follow physical distancing. Besides, the employees of the civic body must ensure physical distancing during door-to-door collection of property tax. Meanwhile, citizens should be encouraged to pay property tax online.
