Students to study ‘Narwa, Ghurwa, Garwa, Bari to become self-reliant.

Students in Chhattisgarh will become self-reliant under the new education management policy, the School Education Depart of the state government asked the directorate of public instructions (DPI) and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan officials for a plan to take the students to the village and ‘Gothan’ trips. School Education Secretary Dr Kamal Preet Singh however said that the students (from class V to XII) may make the trip with the written consent of their parents.
The trip is a part of the state government decision to include the principles and ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi in the curriculum. According to the state government, Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a self-reliant village can come true through this.
Education Department officials believe that the frequent visit of students to Gothans and villages will help in their overall development.
The education department has decided to introduce the ideals and principles of Mahatma Gandhi in the curriculum of School Education for students studying in Class V to XII.
Students will learn about cleanliness, cattle rearing, Narwa, Garuwa, Ghurwa and Bari, environment conservation, alternate sources of energy during their trips to villages. Take measures to create interest in students towards these things and develop a sense of moral responsibility among them, said the Secretary.
Children should also be made aware of water sources, Mruda conservation, self-employment and proper use of resources available in their localities. They should also be made aware of the dream of the ideal village of Mahatma Gandhi.
