Raipur:The General Administration Department (GAD) has warned the officers and employees to be punctual in office and present in their respective headquarters during office hours. The GAD on Tuesday said that the officers and employees found violating the order on timing will be punished under Civil Services Conduct Act. It has come to notice that officers and employees in some government offices of the state are not coming to office on time despite state government’s decision to implement five day working in the government offices. The office timing has been fixed as 10 am to 5.30 pm, reads the order of the GAD.

The instructions issued by the GAD asked the department heads to ensure the attendance of officers and employees in all the HoD offices and field offices of the state government from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.

The instructions, issued by the GAD to all the Divisional Commissioners and the Collectors and Magistrates in this regard, reads that government offices will remain closed on all Saturdays of the month unlike previous arrangement of second and third Saturdays. As there will be 5 working days in a week by declaring all Saturdays as holidays, the working hours for the government offices have been fixed from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and thus the officers and employees should stick to the time.

It has been brought to the notice of the government that in many government offices and field offices, officers and employees were not present on time, which is contrary to the instructions issued by the government. Therefore, the responsibility of all the heads of offices should be fixed that all the officers and employees should be present in the office at 10:00 am in the morning and do the work till 5:30 in the evening, reads the GAD order.

In case of violation of the above instructions, action can be taken against the concerned officer/employee under the Civil Services (Conduct) Rules. The General Administration Department has asked the heads of the departments to adhere to the instructions.
