State govt forms committee to adress grievances of tribal community

Raipur: In a bid to remove the dissatisfaction among the tribal society, especially the tribes of Bastar in Chhattisgarh, the government has formed a committee of senior officers.

There are 8 members in this committee headed by the Chief Secretary. This committee has been entrusted with the task of resolving the dissatisfaction. The officers of the committee will also suggest necessary measures to implement PESA Act. 

The Chief Secretary has been made the chairman of the committee. Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department, Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Secretary in-charge of Health Department, Finance Department, General Administration Department, Tribal Development Department and School Education Department will be the members of this committee. At the same time, the commissioner of Bastar division has also been included as a member in this committee.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the high level committee of secretaries will consult with the representatives and heads of the tribal society. It will prepare its report for their social, educational and economic development as well as for the protection of the constitutional interests of the tribal society.

The Committee of Officers will submit its report to the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Tribal Affairs. The Cabinet Sub-Committee will submit this report to the Council of Ministers. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced the formation of these committees last week after discussions with the representatives of Sarva Adivasi Samaj BPS Netam faction.

According to the order of the General Administration Department, this committee will also look into the suggestions received from the chief minister and other departments. It has been said that after considering such suggestions, the committee will give its recommendation to the cheif minister.
