Sr Congress leader Ramesh Warlyani dies of cardiac arrest

Raipur: Senior Congress leader and Former MLA leader Ramesh Warlyani of Chhattisgarh died due to cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi on Sunday around 12 noon. He was 75.

Warlyani was rushed to Delhi by air ambulance after cardiac arrest three days back. However, he lost the battle and passed away on Sunday. His body was to be brought to Raipur on Sunday evening. Last rites will be performed in Raipur on Monday. 

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr CharandasMahantPanchayat and Rural Development Minister T S SinghdeoHome  MinisterTamradhwaj Sahu, and other cabinet ministers Mohammad Akbar, Amarjeet Bhagat and State Congress President Mohan Markam expressed grief over the demise of Warlyani.

Chief Minister Baghel tweeted that the sudden death of former MLA and senior Congress leader Ramesh Varlyani Ji has come as a shock for him. He was well versed in economic matters. 

Baghel said that he used to seek advice from him.  Baghel prayed for the peace of the departed soul and consoled his family.

Warlayani has expertise in economic and tax related matters and he had a vital role in preparing Congress manifesto for 2018 assembly elections in which Congress registered a thumping victory to form government in the state. 

Warlayani had won assembly election on JanataParty ticket from Raipur Rural assembly seat in 1977 as he defeated Congress candidate Swaroop Chand Jain. Warlyani joined the Congress in 1990 and served on many important posts.
