Raipur Police recovered fine of Rs 2.91 crore under Motor Vehicle Act in one year, action taken in 200 cases of drink and drive
Raipur: Chhattisgarh Police is taking swift action in the cases of drink and drive. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur, in the last year 2021, Raipur Police has taken a total of 67073 actions under the Motor Vehicle Act and recovered a fine of Rs 2.91 crore. These include 200 cases of drink and drive under which a fine of Rs 20 lakh has been recovered by the Hon’ble Court. Raipur Police has taken action for suspension of driving license of 477 persons under Motor Vehicle Act.
According to information received from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur Police has recovered a fine amount of Rs 90.19 lakh in 17,994 actions under the Motor Vehicle Act in the year 2022 till March 20. Till March 20, 2022, Raipur Police has taken action in 90 cases of drunk driving, in which a fine of Rs 98 thousand has been recovered by the Hon’ble Court. So far, action has been taken for the suspension of driving licenses of 225 persons.
The Raipur Police is taking constant action against those driving triple seats, rash and drunk driving. An intensive campaign is being run by the police to check the same at various squares and intersections of the city. Along with this, people are being made aware of the traffic rules through various awareness campaigns being organized from time to time. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur, the same will be continued in future as well.
