“No situation for strict lockdown in state as of now”, says health min TS Singh Deo

Health minister and in charge minister of Bemetara and Kabirdham districts TS
Singh Deo reviewed the measures being taken for prevention and control of
coronavirus infection in both the districts, through video conferencing.

He
held discussion with the people’s representatives, traders, social
organizations and social workers of the Panchayat and urban bodies and urged
them to cooperate in controlling the corona and maintaining the appropriate
system. He appealed to the people to follow Covid appropriate behavior and
avoid crowded places. Bemetara MLA Ashish Chhabra also attended the meeting.

“There
is no need as of now to impose strict lockdown in the state. Economic and
business activities will continue adhering to the Covid protocol”, Deo
said.

He
directed the senior officers of both the districts that hoarding and
profiteering should not be encouraged in view of the surge in corona cases. He requested
the public representatives, businessmen, social organizations and social
workers to cooperate with the district administration in controlling spread of
infection and making necessary arrangements in this regard.

He
has asked the district administration to be cautious of the tourists and
movement of workers from other districts of the state. He asked to compulsorily
conduct corona test of passengers of all inter-state buses entering the
district. In the meeting, Collector Ramesh Kumar Sharma informed that testing
of corona has been made mandatory in all the three entry routes of Kabirdham
district. He informed about the measures being taken for corona control in the
district.

“Vaccination
is the most effective weapon in the fight against coronavirus. I request all
those who have not received their jabs yet to get vaccinated at the
earliest”, he said.

Senior
officers of the district administration including Collector, Superintendent of
Police and Chief Medical and Health Officer of both the districts were present
in the meeting.
