No relief for suspended ADG G P Singh in corruption case
Raipur:Local court rejected plea of relief and send Singh to jail for another 14 days, till February 15.
As a local court of Raipur rejected an application, seeking relief, submitted by the suspended IPS officer G P Singh, the trouble for the suspended IPS officer seems to be multiplying with every passing day.
The suspended ADG GP Singh, who is facing charges of corruption and sedition, had submitted an application in the court through his lawyer after his remand was over on February 14.
Rejecting the pleas for relief, the court ordered to keep G P Singh in jail for another 14 days, which means he will remain in jail till February 28. He had been in the Central Jail of Raipur since January 17 after his arrest.
G P Singh’s lawyers put some surprising facts before the court. The lawyers told the court that GP Singh was not being allowed to meet his family members and his health was deteriorating. Singh was under the supervision of doctors from Delhi before going to jail. Meanwhile, family members claimed that GP Singh has heart and blood pressure issues and the prescription being written by the doctors in the jail did not suit.
However, the court has directed to follow the jail manual and allow the relatives to meet.

G P Singh had said during his media interaction on the jail campus last time that he was made a political scapegoat. “I was forced to implicate former chief minister Dr Raman Singh and his wife Veena Singh in Civil Supplies Corporation scam. As I refused to do so, I was victimized. FIR registered against him is completely wrong,” Singh had said during his media talk.
