The Governor deliver the opening address of the Budget.
Raipur:Governor Anusuiya Uikey was about to start the opening address of the Budget Session of Chhattisgarh Assembly on Monday when senior BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawalinterrupted her saying even 10 per cent of the GhoshnaPatra is not completed in the last three years. The Governor, however, did not respond and started her address. In the meantime, another senior BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar went on to say this state government has accused the government of playing politics and therefore the Governor should refrain from the opening address. MLA Saurabh Singh too intervened to criticise the state government during the governor’s address.
Uikey said that the State government had effectively implemented all its schemes for the development and efficiently upheld the dignity of the state.
“My government had made proper usage of local resources become self reliant in health, education and other sectors and these measures helped make Chhattisgarh a prosperous state. My government won 36 national awards in the last three years for its work,” said the Governor in her address.
The Governor said that her government had been pro farmer, forest dwellers and labourers and the state government has adopted the policies to ensure a hike in the income and participation in the government.
The State government has vowed to protect and promote “Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa and Bari” under the “Suraji GaonYojana”. The state government is promoting organic farming in the state.
The State government has dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic with foresight and promptness, she added. Uikey said that the State government had constituted three committees regarding the study to impose complete ban on sale of liquor in the state under the new excise policy. As many as 99 liquor shops and restaurants have been closed within the last two years. Two new excise divisions have been constituted to check illicit sale of liquor.
Swami Atmanand Utkrisht English Medium School Yojana is another milestone of this state government. An international level school will be set up in Nava Raipur, she said. The admission ratio from 3.5 per cent has reached 18.6 per cent. Admission in Atmanad School has become a prestige issue today, she said.
Efforts are being made by the state government to start domestic air services from Maa Mahamaya Airport Darima Ambikapur. In a bid to improve air connectivity in the state, the State government has made a proposal to develop a new airstrip in Koriya district. Processes have been initiated for a commercial airstrip in Korba to promote business.
Under the new industrial policy, around 84,000 croreinvestment has been made in 1,950 industrial units in the state and around 36,000 people got employment. Besides, it has been proposed to bring around Rs 78,000 crorethrough 166 MoUs. Chhattisgarh Rojgar Mission has been constituted to generate around 15 lakh new jobs in next five years, she added. The State government has given a mantra of “Development and Security” to the Chhattisgarh Police. The State government took various measures to check Naxalism that helped to decline Naxalincidents in the state. 46 Naxalites were killed and 555 Naxalites surrendered. Under “Electricity Bill Half Scheme,” 40,56,000 domestic consumers have been given rebates of over Rs 2,100 crore.
When the Governor highlighted home access services, disrupting the speech MLA Brijmohan Agarwal said that only liquor is available in the home delivery service. Governor Uikey highlighted the achievements of the state government, especially its efforts toward the development of village, agricultural and rural economy in her speech and she completed the 26 pages in about 40 minutes.
