MLA Shailesh Pandey demands increase in honorarium of corporators, aldermen like other public representatives
Raipur: During the discussion on the demands for grants for the financial year 2022 23 in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey demanded hike in honorarium of corporators.
Urban Administration and Development Department Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya discussed the demands for grants related to his Department, during which MLA Pandey placed a demand before the government to increase the honorarium of the corporators. He said that the allowance and honorarium of District Panchayat Presidents, Vice Presidents and Members, District Panchayat Presidents, Vice Presidents and Members, and Sarpanches and Panchs have been increased which was announced in this House. The development fund has also been increased. In this way, he placed the demand of increasing the honorarium and fund of the corporators before the government.
Dhanwantari Generic Medical Stores
136 Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Stores have been set up to provide generic medicines and surgical items to citizens at reasonable prices. Under this scheme so far 5.92 lakh people have been benefited with a discount of Rs 10 crore on medicines of 17 crore 92 lakh.
Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Assistance Scheme
Under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Assistance Scheme, 7 mobile ambulances and Dai Didi clinics are being operated in 14 municipal corporations. In view of the success of the scheme, announcement has been made to implement it in all the municipalities and nagar panchayats in the state.
Increase in Regional Development Fund
The amount of MLA fund has been doubled with the objective of getting speedy approval for the works of local development activities through public representatives. Earlier, Rs 2 crore development fund was being given and Rs to 4 crore will be given.
Approval of Zilla Panchayat Development Fund Scheme has been given at the rate of 15 lakh vice-presidents and 4 lakh per annum for members.
A fund of Rs 3 lakh has been sanctioned for 5 lakh vice-presidents and 2 lakh per year for the members of the Janpad Panchayat.
Increase in honorarium of public representatives
The honorarium of the representatives of District Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Gram Panchayat has also been increased. The honorarium of District Panchayat President has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000, District Panchayat Vice President from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 and the honorarium of District Panchayat member has been increased from Rs 4000 to Rs 10000 per month.
Along with this, the honorarium of Janpad Panchayat President increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 10,000, Janpad Panchayat Vice President’s honorarium increased from Rs 4000 to Rs 6000 Janpad Panchayat members’ honorarium increased from Rs 1500 to Rs 5000, Sarpanch’s allowance increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 4000 and Panchs’ allowance from RS 200 to RS 500.
MLA Shailesh Pandey has made a demand in the assembly to increase the fund and honorarium of the municipal councilors and aldermen before the government.
