Journalists will get 15 per cent concession on purchase of house in RDA colony: CM Bhupesh Baghel
Raipur:
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday announced 15 per cent concession to
journalists on the purchase of housing in the colony of Raipur Development
Authority besides announcing a grant of Rs 2 lakh for the compilation and
publication of Chhattisgarhi satirical column ‘Jhanglu-Mangalu Ke
Goth’–, published daily in the evening daily ‘Agrdoot’–in book form.
The
Chief Minister made the announcement at New Year’s celebrations organized at
Raipur Press Club today. On the occasion, he also inaugurated the gym set up in
the Press Club.
Extending
his best New Year’s wishes to the journalists, Baghel said that being a
journalist is not an easy job. Journalists have discharged their duties well
even in the difficult circumstances of the corona pandemic period.
Stating
that the share of happiness is less compared to sorrow in life and shared sorrow
is half sorrow, Baghel said “I express my gratitude to journalists for
reducing the suffering of others by sharing it.”
The
Chief Minister paid heartfelt tributes to the journalists who left the world
during the Corona period and expressed his deepest condolences to their
families.
In
the programme, Baghel honored AIIMS Raipur director Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar for
providing excellent service to the patients during the Corona period. He said
that AIIMS has played an important role in controlling corona in the state. Secretary of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association Gurcharan
Singh Hora was also felicitated at hands of the Chief Minister. Senior journalist
Ramesh Nayyar, Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi, and President of Press Club Damu Ambadare also
addressed the program. He expressed his gratitude to chief minister Bhupesh
Baghel for increasing the amount of Samman Nidhi for senior journalists from Rs
5000 to Rs 10,000, for allotting accommodation for journalists in Sondongri, and
for providing financial assistance to the families of journalists who lost
their lives due to COVID-19.
