Public confidence in policing increasing in Naxal areas: CM Bhupesh Baghel

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday attended a programme organized at Police
Parade Ground in Raipur on the occasion of the New Year’s.

of Naxals has been bought down to a great extent with the increasing public
confidence in policing. With the consistent efforts of the police, the tribals and
villagers now consider them as their friend besides strongly believing that police
is safeguarding them. Naxalism is now confined to just few pockets in Bastar
which was once a hotbed of Maoist-terror, Baghel said.

Chief Minister also interacted with the commandos of Danteshwari Fighters and
asked about their experiences. DSP Asharani said that the police working
towards boosting confidence among the public in police by celebrating with them
in good times and supporting them during bad ones. This is the reason why
people are not opposing setting up camps. Recently, a camp has been opened
in Nahadi village where about 20 boreholes have been dug to make drinking water
available to the citizens.

Korba District Force constable Sandeep Pandey told Chief Minister that weekly
holidays are being given as per your instructions and the Korba police has also
started resolving public issues by organizing “Jandarshan”. In our
district, youth are being connected with the police by running the programme
named ‘Khaki Ke Rang School Ke Sang’ as per your intentions.

Appreciating the efforts of Chhattisgarh Police Chief Minister said “Our police personnel
are being praised all over the country today. They took immediate action and
nabbed the ones who made derogatory comments regarding Father of Nation Mahatma
Gandhi. Our police is continuously receiving awards by the Government of India.
Recently, Chhattisgarh Police has been ranked second in the country for better
work by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).”

app for women’s safety. Soon after a woman clicks on the SOS in case of
emergency, a Dial 112 team will reach the woman’s location and provide all
necessary assistance. At present this facility is available through Dial 112 in
Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Mahasamund, Durg, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh,
Janjgir, Surguja, and Jagdalpur. Besides, a woman in distress will also be able
to lodge her complaint from anywhere through this app. Tips for women’s safety
are also available in the app.

Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said in his address that Chhattisgarh Police has
achieved great success in the last three years under the guidance of the Chief
Minister. Naxalite activities have reduced significantly and more than Rs 11
crore have been returned back to the chit fund victims. Police personnel has
started getting weekly off and recruitment is being done continuously in the
police and they are also started getting timely promotions.
