I cannot think beyond Congress at this juncture: Singhdeo
Raipur:Putting a rest to speculations rife over his joining Aam AdmiParty (AAP), Chhattisgarh Health Minister T S Singhdeo on Saturday said, “I am going nowhere but to stay with Congress.” He also rubbished the reports that he had a meeting with AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the national capital while interacting with media persons in the Meet the Press programme at Raipur Press Club on Saturday.
When asked about his ambition and change of guard, Singhdeolooked optimistic and put the ball in the court of Congress high command.
Singhdeo said that the Congress high command had called Bhupesh Baghel, Dr Charan Das Mahant, Tamradhwaj Sahu and him after the Congress won elections in 2018. However, Baghelji won the race and the rest is history.
Replying to a query on his joining any other political outfit to fulfil his aspiration, Singhdeo said that he doesn’t see his future outside the Congress at this juncture. Singhdeo said that his ideology cannot match with other parties’ except Congress.
On his reported meeting with Delhi Chief Minister ArvindKejriwal, Singhdeo said that some leaders of the AAP had approached him but he had no meeting with Kejriwal. Singhdeotermed the AAP’s victory in Punjab as an accident. The AAP has four Lok Sabha Members from Punjab. At present, the AAP has no presence in Chhattisgarh, Singhdeo said that Chief Minister Baghel had given him the freedom to choose his departments. Singhdeo said that efforts are being made to improve health infrastructures in the state.
