Health Min TS Singh Deo writes letter to the Union Health Minister for a booster shot of Covid vaccine

Raipur:
Chhattisgarh health minister TS Singh Deo has urged the union health minister Mansukh
Mandaviya to administer booster doses of Covid-19 vaccine to health workers,
frontline workers, immuno-compromised citizens, and people above 60 years of
age.

He
has written a letter to the union health minister requesting to start it at the
earliest, taking an appropriate decision in this regard.

In
his letter, Deo has said that experts from the country and abroad are
certifying that even after the second dose of the vaccine, the level of
antibodies is decreasing within six to nine months or its effect is coming to
an end. Although the level of safety remains in some cases, the need for a
booster dose is felt. He has written that the effect of the third and fourth waves
is being seen in many countries of the world. Many countries are administering
booster doses to their citizens.

Keeping
in view the risk of corona infection, Deo has highlighted the need for booster
doses of corona vaccine for health workers, frontline workers,
immuno-compromised and people above 60 years of age. The union health minister
has been urged to take an early decision in this regard and issue necessary
instructions for booster dose vaccination.
